Paige DeSorbo & Hannah Berner Question if ‘Dancing with the Stars’ is ‘Rigged’ After Ciara Miller’s Elimination

Paige DeSorbo and Hannah Berner have some questions for Dancing with the Stars.
During the Tuesday (October 6) episode of the ABC dance competition series, Summer House star Ciara Miller was eliminated from the competition, despite receiving her highest score of the season after her week 4 dance.
Then on the Friday (October 9) episode of their Giggly Squad podcast, Paige, 33, and Hannah, 35, reacted to their close friend and former co-star’s elimination, and they had some strong opinions.
“I knew that was a f*** ass show,” Paige said. “Rigged.”
“I don’t know if it’s rigged,” Hannah responded. “Even though it is weird that they’re like, ‘We’re not going to tell you the algorithm or how we did it and we’re not going to tell you who’s actually in the bottom three.’”
According to Hannah, she believes that the problem lies with the voting process, which she says has “too many variables.”
“Everyone does a different dance so it’s like you’re not even rated on the same dances,” she explained. “Everyone has a different pro who all have different levels of popularity.”
Hannah continued, “And everyone hates women so we’re fighting that. I don’t watch the other dancers so I’m completely unbiased, but just by the looks, I know my girl was better based on who was in the bottom with her.”
Ciara, 30, and partner Brandon Armstrong were part of the bottom three alongside Guillermo Rodriguez and Witney Carson and Jackson Olson and Emma Slater. While Ciara and Jackson had the same score of the evening (21 out of 30), Guillermo was once again at the bottom of the leaderboard with 13 out of 30.
“People are very upset because every season there’s a Guillermo type. Andy Richter was the previous one,” Hannah claimed. “It’s basically, like, an older man and everyone’s like, ‘He can walk. This is amazing.’ They’re very funny. But at the end of the day, Ciara is improving every week, which is what you should be judged for.”
Regardless of the votes, Hannah and Paige are both proud of Ciara for improving each week and putting on a show for viewers.
“If I’m a producer on that show, I’m like, ‘Hey, maybe we keep the really hot girl. Maybe this is what the fans want to see,’” Paige argued. “She’s giving outfits. She’s giving costumes. She’s giving background story. She was a wizard last night, hello.”
Hannah added, “She did f***ing amazing, and she was only getting better. Now I hope she goes on bed rest.”
Dancing with the Stars will air live at 8pm ET on ABC every Tuesday night, and streaming on Hulu and Disney+. Next week’s episode will have a special guest judge.
