Harry Styles paid tribute to Liam Payne with an unreleased song on the second anniversary of his death.
The 32-year-old singer performed the song for his late One Direction bandmate during a sold-out performance at Madison Square Garden on Friday night (October 16) as part of his ongoing Together, Together tour.
The song is an unreleased acoustic song called “What Is Enough.”
“I feel incredibly lucky to get to play these shows here in New York, and this building means a lot to me…And two years ago today, I lost one of those friends…I’m sure a lot of you have been through similar things. I hope you haven’t. But really, it’s just about looking after each other,” Harry told the audience, according to Deadline‘s reporting.
He went on to say that there have been “many people who have touched my life in such special ways that I wouldn’t be here without,” before launching into his introduction to the song he wrote two years ago.
The lyrics included, “I’m not wise enough/But I wrote you a letter just to burn it up/And watch it rise like you’re in the sky.”
Rolling Stone also shared a clip of the performance on their social media. Watch it here.
Kate Cassidy also recently honored her late boyfriend Liam Payne with a throwback video shared on Instagram.
The One Direction singer died at the age of 31 on October 16, 2024 after a fatal fall from a balcony at a hotel in Argentina.
