NASCAR fans will have two races to watch on Sunday (October 11) after severe weather forced a major schedule change at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Officials announced Saturday (October 10) that all on-track activities were canceled due to weather conditions associated with Hurricane Isaias.
The decision postponed Saturday’s Blue Cross NC 300, which was originally scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. ET.
The race will now take place Sunday evening (October 11), following the NASCAR Cup Series Bank of America 400, which remains scheduled for its original afternoon start time.
That means fans can watch both races on the same day, but they’ll air on different networks.
Keep reading for the updated schedule and how to watch…
What is the updated NASCAR schedule for Sunday, October 11?
NASCAR has confirmed the following schedule for Charlotte Motor Speedway:
3 p.m. ET / 12 p.m. PT: Bank of America 400
The NASCAR Cup Series race will begin at its originally scheduled time.
Fans can watch on USA Network or stream the race on HBO Max.
USA Network will also air a pre-race show beginning at 2:30 p.m. ET / 11:30 a.m. PT, ahead of the race’s 3 p.m. start.
8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT: Blue Cross NC 300
The NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race has been moved from Saturday afternoon to Sunday night.
It will air on The CW and stream through ESPN Unlimited.
The Blue Cross NC 300 will take place after the Cup Series race, giving NASCAR fans two races in one day.
Both races will also be available to listen to on PRN Radio and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
The CW will also air a pre-race show beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET / 4:30 p.m. PT, ahead of the race’s 8 p.m. start.
Why was Saturday’s NASCAR race postponed?
NASCAR canceled all Saturday on-track activity at Charlotte Motor Speedway because of inclement weather associated with Hurricane Isaias.
The Blue Cross NC 300 was originally scheduled for 4 p.m. ET Saturday before officials moved it to Sunday evening.
Practice and qualifying for both the Cup Series and O’Reilly Auto Parts Series were also canceled.
As a result, starting lineups for both races will be determined under the NASCAR Rule Book instead of through regular qualifying sessions.
The Bank of America 400 remains scheduled for Sunday afternoon as planned.
How can fans watch Sunday’s NASCAR races?
Both races will be available on television and through streaming services, but the viewing options are different.
For the Bank of America 400, tune in to USA Network at 3 p.m. ET or stream the race on HBO Max.
For the Blue Cross NC 300, tune in to The CW at 8 p.m. ET. The race will also stream through ESPN Unlimited.
Fans should note that ESPN Unlimited is different from the lower-priced ESPN Select subscription.
What happens to Saturday’s NASCAR tickets?
Fans who purchased tickets for Saturday’s Blue Cross NC 300 can still attend the rescheduled race on Sunday.
According to Charlotte Motor Speedway, Saturday ticket holders will be admitted to the grandstands following the conclusion of the Bank of America 400.
Saturday ticket holders will receive first priority for reserved seating for the evening race, while Sunday ticket holders can use available seats.
Fans with Saturday tickets who cannot attend the rescheduled race are eligible for a ticket credit toward a future NASCAR race at a Speedway Motorsports venue under the company’s Weather Guarantee.
