What Did Brooke Elliott Say About the Sweet Magnolias Cancellation?
“To everyone who loved us, we love you just as much in return,” Brooke wrote on Instagram on Monday (October 5).
“I will miss this cast and crew dearly. Here’s to the beautiful Sweet Magnolias… one last time… Pour It Out,” she continued.
The “Pour It Out” reference is a nod to the show’s “Margarita Night” tradition, when Dana Sue, Helen and Maddie would get together to share what was happening in their lives over drinks.
Brooke also shared a photo of herself holding a margarita.

Sweet Magnolias Ended After Five Seasons
Sweet Magnolias debuted on Netflix in 2020 and starred Brooke, JoAnna Garcia Swisher and Heather Headley as best friends Dana Sue Sullivan, Maddie Townsend and Helen Decatur.
The fifth and final season premiered in June 2026.
Netflix announced in September that the show would not return for Season 6. At the time, the show’s writers told fans that the series was “now complete with five seasons streaming on Netflix.”
We previously reported on the cancellation, which came as showrunner Sheryl J. Anderson and JoAnna teamed up for a new Netflix drama titled Ladies of the House.
Other Sweet Magnolias Stars Have Also Said Goodbye
Justin Bruening, who played Cal Maddox, also shared a farewell message this week.
He thanked the show’s cast, crew and viewers and reflected on his family’s time in Georgia while he worked on the series.
Heather commented that she was grateful for their time together on and off screen, while JoAnna shared her love for Justin and his family.
All five seasons of Sweet Magnolias are streaming now on Netflix.
