Katie Zacharia Confirms She Failed Bar Exam Despite Calling Herself a Lawyer

New details about Katie Zacharia‘s background are being revealed after she made her debut as Trump‘s latest White House Press Secretary.
Katie has called herself a lawyer, but new records have shown that she never passed the bar exam and is not allowed to practice law in the United States.
Now, Katie has confirmed the news and clarified why she never tried to pass the bar after failing it.

Katie graduated from law school at Pepperdine University in 2011 and took the bar exam that year, but failed.
“The results of the bar exam were inconsequential because I was already moving to a foreign country that didn’t require it,” Zacharia told USA Today.
Katie already knew she was moving to China when she took the bar exam and says it didn’t matter if she passed the exam as she would not need it to work at a Chinese law firm.
“After moving to China, I didn’t really think much of the bar results or consider that something I needed to focus on,” she said. “There’s no Chinese bar. I had enough credentials, which was my law degree, to be able to do this practice.”
Donald Trump called Katie an “attorney” when he appointed her as the White House Press Secretary, but that’s not an accurate way to describe her. She told USA Today that other lawyers have told her that it’s okay to identify as a lawyer because of her law degree, but not to identify as an attorney or use esquire.
Not everyone feels that way though. Several professors told the newspaper that it’s “unethical” and “not appropriate” to identify as a lawyer if you’re not licensed to practice.
